Went out yesterday to a pond down the street in Frisco, Tx. Recently they stocked it with tiny trout, 8 to 12 inches. The sad thing is that they put in 2500 for a kid's fishing event. I am not sure how many have been caught to date, but they need to get out of there soon or they wont last once the water breaks the 70 degree mark.
Limit is 5/day. I and a friend brought home 7. I used a Storm rod that I bought in an emergency one day, size 8 snell hook and 2 little buckshot sinkers. Corn was my bait of choice. They were loving it. I had no idea these little trout could hit so hard.
They really were buggers to clean, but I have a sister-in-law waiting to eat all 7 of the little things in one sitting.
I personally don't keep unless I know someone who wants the fish. All though I think I will be keeping anything I catch at this pond so the fish don't go to waste. I know several people who love free fish.
I guess I am strange, I barely eat fish other than Flounder, Sole or shell fish. I love Sushi pieces, not rolls oddly enough. I occasionaly eat a tuna sandwich if that's what my wife makes, but never have liked Catfish, Bass or any other freshwater fish. People tell me I would love Crappie. I know I like catching them, but I always give them away to the guy next to me.
I'm thinking about going out to the Lewisville Fishing Barge tonight after the kids get to bed. I'll let you know how it goes.
